What’s New This Year

This year, seating will be offered by vocal section – baritone, tenor, alto, and soprano – on the main floor. Your family members may also sit with you in your chosen vocal section.

There will also be seating options for those who may not want to sing or who wish to sit with their family and friends regardless of voice.

“We realize that some people really want to be with others who sing in their same register and others may just want to enjoy the performance by our award-winning musicians and vocalists. This year’s ticketing offers both options,” said co-chair Dr. Sojung Lee Hong, professor of music and director of the Master of Arts in Community Music at Judson University, about the change in seating.

Never been to a Sing-Along of Handel’s Messiah?

A selections of pieces from Handel’s Messiah will be played by members of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Professional vocalists will perform the solo parts of the performance for your enjoyment.

The audience will be invited to join the chorus portions of the Messiah. All experience levels are welcome to participate. For those who are too shy to sing, the performance is an exciting experience in and of itself.
