Thanks to your ticket purchases and generous donations we were able to raise over $5,400 for our 2023 Charity Partner Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley! We will be accepting applications for 2024 in August.
What Happens at Elgin's Sing-Along of Handel's Messiah?
We’ll begin the evening at 6:30 pm getting our holiday voices on singing familiar holiday carols!
At 7:00 pm, we’ll begin performing Handel’s Messiah. A selections of pieces from the Messiah will be played by members of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, and solos by members of the Midwest Opera Theater.
When it comes time for the choral numbers during the evening, the audience sings along with a choir formed by members from area churches. Members of the Elgin Master Chorale will be seated with the different vocal ranges to lead that in those voices. Scores will be handed out at the door, or you may bring your own copy!
All experience levels are welcome to participate. For those who prefer to just listen, the performance is an exciting experience in and of itself.
